Man suffers head injuries in 'vicious attack' at Kirkby

A man was hurt in a ‘vicious attack’ by two masked motorbike riders at a Kirkby recreation ground.

Officers say the attack happened near School Street and Welbeck Street in the town at 3pm on Sunday April 18.

The victim suffered head injuries during the assault and was taken to hospital for treatment, but is expected to make a full recovery.

A police investigation has now been launched.

PC Thomas Burton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a vicious attack that left a man in hospital.

“While the victim was not seriously injured, assaults are incredibly dangerous and there is always the potential for a far more serious outcome.

“I am now appealing to anyone who may have seen something in the area at the time to report it to police as soon as possible.”
