Mansfield teenager arrested for possession of class A drugs

A Mansfield teenager has been arrested for the possession of class A drugs after officers spotted him acting suspiciously this morning.

The 16-year-old boy was believed to be involved in a drug deal before he ran off from Nottinghamshire Police.

He was later spotted loitering around Ladybrook Lane before officers arrested him at 11am and charged him with the possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

Neighbourhood Inspector Nick Butler said: "As this is an area priority, officers are taking a proactive approach in order to prevent this from happening.

"Daily business is still continuing alongside the Covid-19 patrols and drug dealers need to be aware that we will continue to work to reduce the drug dealing within the area.”

The teenager has now been released from custody under investigation.
