Police crime report for incidents in the Mansfield area

BERRY HILL

Burglary – Police received reports of two males on the roof of the sports stadium on Berry Hill Park on the evening of April 20. Officers carried out a searche but found no one in the vicinity.

Theft of motor vehicle – A red Peugeot 110 125cc motorbike was stolen from a front garden on Somersall Street, sometime between 9pm, on April 22, and 6.05am the next day.

FOREST TOWN EAST

Theft – Lead cladding was stolen from the roof of the Forest Town Arena, sometime between 3.30pm, on April 24, and 8am the next day. Builders noticed the lead was missing during repairs.

GRANGE FARM

Theft – An old arched iron gate has been stolen from a rear garden on Cottam Grove in Mansfield. The incident was reported on April 24, but the theft took place some two weeks previous.

LADYBROOK

Theft from motor vehicle – A rear window was smashed through and the back passenger window had a 10-inch hole in the glass when someone broke into a Vauxhall Astra, parked on Botany Avenue, sometime between 7.45am and 4pm, on April 22. Nothing was stolen at the time.

OAK TREE

Attempted theft – Offenders snapped the steering lock, cut the brake lock disc and wheeled away a moped, from Littleover Avenue in Mansfield, sometime around 1.20am on April 24. The Silver Piaggo moped was later found nearby.

PORTLAND

Theft from motor vehicle – A catalytic converter was stolen from a Honda Jazz, parked on Hamilton Way, sometime between 6am and 6pm, on April 24.

A handbag was stolen from a car while parked in Sainbury’s car park, on Nottingham Road, at 1.08pm, on April 20. A man was later arrested and is currently being investigated.

PLEASLEY HILL

Burglary other than dwelling – Unknown persons tried to gain entry to a building on Enterprise Road via the fire escape door, between 4.30pm, on April 26, and 8.20am the next day. Nothing was stolen.

Theft – A scooter was stolen from the play area near Peel Crescent, at around 4pm, on April 24. The owner later found the scooter dumped in a bin.

RAVENSDALE

Theft from motor vehicle – A handbag was stolen from a car, parked on Rufford Avenue in Mansfield, at approximately 6.30pm, on April 21. The small black velvet bag with a cream leather handle contained make up, a black/gold purse, £40 cash and a driving licence. CCTV enquiries are ongoing.

Theft of motor vehicle – A black and red Peugeot Speedfighter motorcycle was stolen from outside a house on Ravensdale Avenue, Mansfield, sometime between noon on April 22, and 10.15am the next day

Attempted theft – An attempt to steal a motorbike from an address on Blake Crescent, Mansfield, at approximately 2am on April 27, was heard by the owners. The bike was left damaged.

ROBIN HOOD

Burglary dwelling – Someone tried to get into a property on Hazel Grove, Mansfield Woodhouse, by knocking a hole in the back door, between 8.30pm, on April 21, and 7am the next day.

Attempted theft from motor vehicle – Someone attempted to break into a white Renault Master van, on Scotswood Road, Mansfield Woodhouse, between 3.45pm on April 22, and 9am on April 24. Nothing was stolen.

SHERWOOD

Burglary other than dwelling – Offenders used a bolt cropper to cut the lock of a wooden garage, on West Hill Drive, sometime between 6pm on April 25, and 10.30am, on April 26. They stole a Parkside cordless angle grinder, three batteries and two adjustable G clamps.

Theft other – A heavy chain securing a back gate on West Hill Drive was broken and offenders tried to steal a Lexmoto moped by damaging the lock, sometime between midnight and noon on April 26.

A Samsung galaxy phone was stolen from a bag while the victim was travelling on a Pronto bus between Chesterfield and Nottingham, at 7.10am on April 27. CCTV is currently being checked.

TOWN CENTRE

Burglary other than dwelling – A shop on Handley Arcade was broken into on the morning of April 27. The owner arrived to hear banging in an upstairs room.
