Teen smoked cannabis before collision in Mansfield

Lewis Simpson was driving a VW Polo when the accident happened in Rosemary Street, in Mansfield, on December 21, last year, said prosecutor Sanjay Jerath.
A blood test showed he had 4.8 mcgs of the Class B drug when the specified limit is 2mcgs.

Hide AdAbbie Edwards, mitigating, said he had a full clean driving licence and no previous convictions.
"He is adamant that the collision was no fault of his," she said. "No statement was provided by the other party.
"The only account was given to police when they attended the scene. Nearly seven months have passed and no claim has been made on Mr Simpson's insurance policy."
Simpson, 18, of Limes Crescent, admitted drug driving when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court, on Thursday.
