Executive Mayor Andy Abrahams said: "The arrival of the bins is a really exciting step towards our free kerbside glass recycling collections starting in spring.
"The scheme will be better for the environment, increase the amount we recycle, and reduce the amount of glass going to landfill or for incineration. We also hope it will reduce the contamination of recyclable materials in existing blue bins.
"It is a key part of the council's agenda to be a cleaner, greener and more welcoming district and this is a major step towards achieving this goal. Thank you to Cllr Andy Burgin, Portfolio Holder for Environment, for his involvement bringing the project to fruition after many years of discussions."
