Flower power pays off with village well dressing success

Volunteers are pictured working on designs the week before the festival.

A spokesman told Chad: “The design is outlined in black wool, then thousands

of seeds, berries, leaves, petals, bark and even coffee beans are pressed into the damp clay.

“It is definitely a labour of love, as once it is displayed outside church, the well dressing only lasts about a week - or even less in the recent hot weather.”

Visitors were also able to enjoy flower arrangements in the church, which were designed to the overall festival theme - Nature in Colour.
