Meden Vale Village Hall in Elkesley Road, Meden Vale, has formed a new committee

Andrew Ward, chairman, said: “I would first like to say that the old committee did a tremendous job by raising more than £50,000 for the hall and local community.

“They recently came to the conclusion that they’d like an injection of new blood, enthusiasm and ideas.

“What we envisage for the future is a more prominent role in the community and in essence we’d like to make the village hall a central hub and focal point for the locals to utilise and enjoy.

“We currently already have a few clubs and locals who rent the space for a variety of things including parties, Dance classes and Taekwondo plus a couple more.”

To welcome the new committee the hall is hosting an open day on August 25, from 11am to 4pm.

Andrew added: “We’d like this to be a meet and greet and for people to see the improvements we have already made and locals opinions on what they would like to see in their village hall.

“All members of the committee are locals who live or grew up in Meden Vale and Warsop and who are dedicated to seeing it succeed and flourish.

“We sincerely hope the community get behind us and help us to reach the hall’s full potential.”
