Large area of Nottinghamshire woodland destroyed in deliberate fire
Crews from Nottinghamshire were called to Ollerton Pit Tip in the early hours of this morning as a large area of woodland was alight, which fire crews described as ‘deliberate’.
Edwinstowe were first on the scene, with calls being made for Tuxford crews to assist as the fire raged on.

Hide AdCrews arrived to find a large area of the local beauty spot alight, with bottles, cans and firelighters strewn around the ground, in distressing scenes for nature lovers.
Tuxford Fire Station said: “Early call this morning for the crew as they were mobilised to assist our colleagues from Edwinstowe Fire Station with an incident at Ollerton Pit Tip.
"This was 2000 square metres of nature destroyed by deliberate fire.
"Crews used beaters to deal with the remaining pockets of fire.”
