Mansfield estate agent branches out

Rooftop Estates and Lettings, on Yorke Street, Mansfield Woodhouse, is now buying and selling properties across North Nottinghamshire, as well as acting as a landlords’ agent.

And since the business started in Warsop 10 years ago, is has more than doubled in size and staff members.

Clive Tomlinson, business development manager, said the business growth has been “absolutely fantastic”.

He said: “It is a very good area to be in this business.

“There are lots of things happening and lots of potential investments.

“We only moved to Mansfield Woodhouse three years ago and we have grown distinctly over that period.

“It is a phenomenal place to work – it’s full of down-to-earth people.”

The business deals with properties across North Nottinghamshire, including Mansfield, Ashfield, Worksop and Retford.

Mr Tomlinson, whose job is to develop the business, has been in the industry for 30 years in markets across the country.

And he said he is excited to be working in an ex-mining town like Mansfield.

He said: “It’s been a joy to work with people from Mansfield so far.

“And we are looking to deliver a first-class service to all residents and property buyers and sellers.”

Rooftop was previously just a letting agents, but nine months ago the team of nine decided to branch out and start buying and selling properties as well.

And they have already sold more than 30 properties since they started on the property ladder in June.

Mr Tomlinson said: “The quickest we have sold a property is in two hours.”

The team currently manages about 1,100 tenants in the area, as well as offering help and advice for potential buyers, sellers or tenants.

Mr Tomlinson said the next step for the business is to look more into buying properties to let, as there is a “real market for it” in Mansfield.
