Mansfield man in quest to raise £10,000 for Macmillan
Andy Callaghan-Wetton, of Berry Hill, wants to run the miles to show his support for cancer sufferers everywhere who deal with the devastating disease every day.
In the past Andy has taken part in lots of charity challenges but now he is undergoing the day-by-day challenge for Macmillan Cancer Care.

Hide AdThe 34-year-old father of two said completing a one off challenge like a marathon is tough, but he wants to take on the 1,000 miles over a year to show his support for people with cancer every day.
“We have all been affected by cancer in some way, whether directly or indirectly, which is why I have always focused on cancer charities.
“I decided to proactively raise money after a little girl in my class was diagnosed with leukemia.
“Then I had a grandparent die from lung cancer and over the years things have happened that have made me want to support cancer charities,” the Wynndale Primary School teacher said.
Over the year Andy will complete 40 marathons.
He will hit the 500 mile mark in October.

Hide AdAndy is yet to complete a Miles for Macmillan family walk on 7th September through Clumber Park, the Robin Hood half marathon on 29th September, the Keyworth Turkey Trot on 8th December, Wilmslow Half marathon on 23rd March 2014 and finally he will hit the 1,000 mile mark with the London marathon on 13th April next year.
“I have a detemination to get through and raise as much as I can knowing that the money is desperately needed by Macmillan so they can continue to do their good work.
“I have also been inspired by many people around me including friends, family and the children I teach who deal with cancer, they will spur me on every day.”
