Mansfield residents' disgust at 'disrespectful' fly-tipping

Estelle Bacon was taking her daily walk through Peafield Lane woods when she found the gate had been broken into and a large number of refrigerators which had been dumped on the path.
Estelle said: “I was walking my dog when I found them. How disrespectful can you be?”

Councillor Mick Barton said: “Surely someone would have seen something?
“Its absolutely disgusting, in a beautiful spot. “This is commercial – someone must know who it is?”
A spokesperson for Mansfield District Council said: “We are appealing for information after 12 fridge/freezers were dumped in woodland near Mansfield Woodhouse.

Hide Ad“Our Community Safety team is investigating and is contacting the landowner, who will be responsible for clearing it up as it is on privately-owned land.
“It is believed the fly-tipping happened overnight on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 April, off Peafield Lane, not far from the Redbrick House Hotel.
“Did you see anything? Perhaps a suspicious vehicle in the area? Anyone with information should contact us on 01623 463463.
“Did you know that people offering to take your waste away for a small charge often end up fly-tipping?
