Mansfield singer Carly Paoli has a special Christmas treat on TV

Described by The Pope as ‘having the voice of an angel’, Mansfield singer Carly Paoli is presenting a very special concert on Sky Arts for Christmas.

The Classical Brit nominated soprano and her friends, tenor Joseph Calleja, bandoneon player Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, and concert pianist Oliver Poole, will be presenting Christmas At The Castle – filmed at Otterburn Castle in Northumberland – will be aired on Sky Arts, on Wednesday, December 23 at 10.45 pm.

Carly won the praise of the Pope when her original, new version of Ave Maria was adopted by the Vatican as the official song for Pope Francis’ Jubilee Year of Mercy in 2016.

She has headlined in some of the world’s great concert halls including Carnegie Hall in New York and Jordan Hall in Boston.

At Windsor Castle she performed for the Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

Carly’s concert Music For Mercy which featured amongst others, Andrea Bocelli, Elaine Paige and David Foster, was broadcast on RAI and later on Sky Arts

She is the recipient of many awards for her contribution to the arts in Italy and has released three albums.

Christmas At The Castle sees Carly perform familiar classics such as Angels from the Realms of Glory, Believe and Bless Us All.

Joseph Calleja performs Adeste Fideles and Edelweiss, Oliver Poole presents Sleigh Ride and Mario Pietrodarchi delights with Oblivion.

Carly and Joseph also perform Christmas favourites like O Holy Night, White Christmas, Silent Night, Frosty the Snowman and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
