Crowds gathered at Kirkby Plaza at the weekend for a tropical themed fun day.

The ‘here comes the sun’ event kept youngsters entertained with a face painter, fire performer, steel drums and circus workshop.

The event, which was orgnaised by Ashfield District Council, took place on Saturday (August 4) and was free to attend.

Councillor Tom Hollis, cabinet member for strategic leisure, communities and health says “It was great that so many families came out to enjoy the sunshine, music and activities on Kirkby Plaza. This free event really brought the community together and was enjoyed by residents of all ages. The Council’s committed to holding events like this across the district, and we look forward to the next events in Hucknall for the Tour of Britain.”
