Dawson strikes late to stretch unbeaten run

Jason Dawson’s 93rd-minute equaliser cancelled out Josh Asuman’s first half opener and stretched Blidworth’s unbeaten league run to eight matches.

The defender’s goal — a header from keeper Josh Hollis’ free kick on the halfway line — was also their second injury-time leveller in two weeks.

Blidworth manager Lewis Saxby said: “Another week and another frustrating performance. That is the third game in a row where we have had to come back. We kept going and got ourselves a late goal, but we need to start making our chances count.”

Cameron Davidson, on his return for Blidworth, set up their first chance as Lewis Weaver slid the ball across the box, where Triston Burrell almost made contact.

Weaver’s free kick was then tipped on to the bar by keeper Josh Fryer and Josh Brentnall headed over.

The deadlock was broken just after the half hour as Tommy Nesteruk played in Asuman.

Weaver was denied an equaliser by a goalline clearance.

New acquisition Tremere Lindo, who joined Blidworth from Linby earlier this week, was introduced from the bench after the hour mark and was straight into the action.

His corner from the right side was deflected out to Cameron Davidson on the edge of the box, but his first-time shot was straight at the keeper.
