In-form Reds all set for Fylde

Alfreton Town will be looking to continue their superb recent unbeaten run as they head to the Lancashire coast on Saturday to face fourth-placed AFC Fylde.

It is a great chance to see how far the Reds have come since their first ever meeting against the Coasters way back in early December.

Alfreton have only lost once in the 14 fixtures since a narrow 2-1 home defeat against the promotion-chasers way back on Tuesday, December 8.

The sole defeat after that came against Bradford Park Avenue, a 1-0 reverse at home on Saturday, December 19, after which Alfreton have gone 12 games unbeaten in all competitions including the last nine in the league.

The Reds are also unbeaten on their travels in the last five outings in all competitions, including four successive away victories in the league.

However, if Nicky Law’s side are going to keep their hopes of gatecrashing the play-offs alive, they are almost certainly going to have to repeat the dose as four of the next five games are on the road.

The one exception is next Tuesday when relegation-fighting AFC Telford United are the visitors to the Impact Arena for a league game which kicks-off at 7.45pm.

Before that though is the trip to Fylde this weekend to take on a side who will be ultra-keen not to lose any more ground on league leaders Solihull Moors.

Alfreton Town are currently ten points outside of the play-off places but they know that if they can produce another big away day success this weekend, nine of their remaining 11 league games are against sides below them in the table and anything is still possible.
